ARTUS

Autonomous robust transport system for hybrid, environmentally friendly raw material extraction based on articulated special vehicles

The aim of the ARTUS project is the development of a fleet of autonomous special vehicles in a hybrid mining setting. Hybrid in this case means that the mine is partly open cast and partly underground. The system facilitates environmentally friendly and sustainable extraction of raw materials.

ARTUS contributes to better working hours, increased efficiency, and a longer life-span of mining machines and processes. In the vision of the ARTUS project illustrated above, autonomous dump trucks communicate with one another in a hybrid extraction facility for raw materials. The picture shows loading of the autonomous dump trucks and the autonomous transportation of materials as well as dumping into the crusher.
